60 years on the journey

The story of S. Nuutinen Driving School began in Rovaniemi over 60 years ago. Over the decades, the driving school has taught several generations about traffic and become a familiar part of Rovaniemi’s traffic.

Although cars, traffic, and driver training have changed a lot over the years, one thing has remained the same: the goal is to give every student good and safe skills for independent driving.

New entrepreneur – familiar driving school

In June 2026, the operations of Driving School S. Nuutinen were transferred to Teaching and Driver Services Ari Hangasvaara Oy.

However, the company’s entrepreneur, Ari Hangasvaara, is not new to the driving school industry. He has been a traffic instructor since 2014 and has over a decade of experience in driver training.

With the change of ownership, the long history of Autokoulu S. Nuutinen will continue under the leadership of a new entrepreneur. The goal is to preserve what has been done well over the decades, but at the same time develop the operations to meet the needs of today’s and future drivers.

Respecting tradition, looking forward

For us, driving school is not just about getting a driver’s license. We want the student to gain self-confidence, an eye for traffic, and skills that will be useful long after the driving test.

Driving School S. Nuutinen continues its journey as a local driving school in Rovaniemi – with decades of experience, but with a strong focus on the future.

You can sign up online or visit us in person. At Monday’s information session, we’ll explain how the training works, help you apply for a driving licence permit and book your first driving lesson.

We offer several secure and flexible payment options, so you can choose the one that suits you best. Our payments are processed by Svea Payments Oy, a payment service provider supervised by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority.

You can pay by debit or credit card, pay the full amount by invoice, or spread the cost over several instalments.

You’ll receive your username from the driving school. It may also be listed in your training agreement. Please note that usernames are case-sensitive.

If you’ve forgotten your password or can’t log in, contact the driving school. We can reset your password for you.

If you still can’t log in, check whether your browser is filling in an old password. If it is, remove the saved password for Webauto from your browser and try again.

No. You can take the theory lessons online or attend them in person. Driving lessons can begin once the theory lessons have started.

We’ll go through the cancellation policy at the introductory information session.

Please cancel your driving lesson by 3 p.m. on the previous working day. If you cancel later or do not attend, we’ll waive the fee the first time. From the second time onwards, we charge 85 € per lesson.

If you’re ill, please let us know before your scheduled lesson. If you notify us only after the lesson was due to take place, we charge 85 €.

For AM120, AM121, T, A1 and B licences, book your theory test through the driving school office. Once you’ve practised enough, call us or visit the office.

If this is your first driving licence, you must also complete EAS theory lessons 1–4 before taking the test.

You can book your driving test once you’ve passed the theory test. So make sure you prepare well for the theory test!

You can apply online through Traficom or visit an Ajovarma service point at Teollisuustie 30, 96300 Rovaniemi. You can book an appointment on Ajovarma’s website. Select “First driving licence or upgrade to a new licence category”.

If the learner is under 18, they must submit a completed guardian’s consent form to the driving school office.
